1998 Guildford Surrey 18 July One Day Meeting
A party of 16 members met the leaders, Noreen and Roy Sherlock, at Blackheath on Saturday 18 July. The party circled the village on the heathland seeing several aliens as well as native plants including Pinus pinaster (Maritime Pine), Cotoneaster dielsiunus (Diels' Cotoneaster), C. rehderi (Bullate Cotoneaster). Holodiscus discolor (Oceanspray) and Amsinckia micrantha (Common Fiddleneck). After lunch on Albury Heath the party went across the heath to a meadow seeing Fallopia dumetorum (Copse Bindweed) and Silene x hampeana (S. lutifolia x S. dioica), Catabrosa aquatica (Water Whorl-grass) and other water plants beside a stream, and later Cicerbita macrophylla (Common Blue Sowthistle).
